WORKSHOPS

Our Growing Disciplines

Starting April 2025 we are offering workshops in Quilting, Weaving, Sewing, and Painting.

By Summer 2025, we will offer programming in Creative Metalworking and Pottery!

Offerings

We offer two to three-hour sampler events, two-day and three-day weekend workshops, and multi-week sessions for deeper learning. As we grow, we will develop curricula in each discipline to allow you to increase your skills and delve deeper into new passions.

Studio Time

Students and teaching artists will have access to our studio spaces outside of workshops to work on their own projects, independently.

Sign up for studio time on our registration software.

STUDIO SPACE

We are open year-round!

Our updated spaces are equipped with professional-grade equipment in newly designed, dedicated studios.

Quilting and Sewing Studio has seven new Bernette b38 sewing machines with bells and whistles and a Bernina Q20 sit down long-arm quilting machine which allows you to easily add finish stitching to oversized quilts. There are also dedicated spaces for ironing and cutting as well as a design wall for planning your piece.

Weaving Studio offers an abundance of yarns in wool, silk, cotton, linen, and blends. Its many four-shaft floor looms allow your work to stay in process until your project is complete. The space also has six- and twelve-shaft looms for more complex projects. Check out our barn looms and new 65-inch countermarch loom available this summer.

Up and Coming Studio Spaces

This summer, look out for Creative Metalwork, Pottery, and precious metal fabricated jewelry studios in the works!

You can help get these programs up and running by volunteering your time and helping to connect us with local artists! Check back for more information soon – we are making steady progress in establishing these disciplines.

Our Volunteers

We are a volunteer organization, which means that we rely on a team of volunteers to coordinate and enact every part of our operations. Not only have volunteers kept us running, but they have fueled our strategic planning process and reimagined us into Create Together. We are artists, makers, creators, teachers, parents, and locals -regular folks just like you. Join us!

Our History

Founded in 1947 as Fletcher Farm School for the Arts & Crafts, we have offered art education in the Okemo Valley for over 75 years. During that time, we have operated out of the historic Fletcher Farm barns and buildings owned by the Fletcher Farm Foundation for warm-weather programming. Traditionally, we have offered immersive summer experiences in heritage arts and crafts.

Create Together’s Founding Tenets

We strive to make our programming accessible to everyone. With our new operating model, we are removing barriers around affordability, transportation, physical ability, skill, and experience.

We are establishing a scholarship program and partnering with local agencies to ensure our resources have maximum community impact.

Adapting to changing community needs will create an inviting space for everyone.

We work to foster environments welcoming to all experience levels, from beginner lessons to professional collaborative studio time.

No matter where you are on your path, we encourage experimentation and risk-taking — There are no mistakes just new directions.

Living in rural Vermont can be isolating. We create community experiences through creativity and in celebrating diverse artistic expression. Good for the soul; great for the mind!

We keep our communities alive and thriving.

Our teaching artists are local creators and makers. We share and brainstorm ideas with community members. We enrich people’s lives by offering programming that encourages exploration and community. We partner with area town and school leaders to reach every corner of our local population.

We are building a sustainable organization by generating community value. Starting by making professional resources and equipment available to everyone, we open a world of opportunity for a diverse lifestyle whether you are interested in trying something new, developing your hobby, or driving your  creative profession.
